Cognizant Consumer Initiatives Inc. (CCI) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals to become more cognizant of their personal data—how it is used, what rights they hold over it, and how it can be used for their benefit. Our work promotes data literacy and consumer empowerment in the digital age.
Why It Matters
As digital interfaces grow more prevalent, personally identifiable information (PII) is increasingly collected and processed. We believe individuals should understand not only when their data is being used, but also the implications—and have the tools and insights to act accordingly.
What We Do
We provide educational resources and support the development of technologies that help people recognize and manage how their data is used. Our work fosters transparency and collaboration between consumers and the organizations they interact with.
